Alex Humphrey joined the FSI team in 2019 after a two-year hiatus from teaching. Back in the classroom, she is teaching ninth-grade English and Journalism, and she looks forward to building strong relationships and contributing to the positive community at FSI. She holds a BS in English with a concentration in Secondary Education from Appalachian State University and a Master’s degree in English Literature from Wake Forest University.
A North Carolina native, Alex has spent time in Boone, Asheville, Winston-Salem, Salisbury, and Greensboro, and her happiest years have been spent in the mountains. When she is not teaching, Alex can most often be found reading, cooking, or spending time with her husband and their two cats, Ophelia and Merlin.
