Christopher Wilson, earned his Bachelors degree in music education and music performance from Mars Hill College in 2002 and has graduated with a Masters of Music in Instrumental Conducting at Northern Arizona University in 2012. While pursuing his studies, Mr. Wilson served as the percussion instructor for the Lumberjack Marching Band and assisted with teaching and conducting duties for the NAU Wind Ensemble, the NAU Marching Lumberjack Band and NAU Collegiate Band. Mr. Wilson was instrumental in establishing the Untertones Clarinet Quartet at NAU as well. Prior to his studies at NAU, Mr. Wilson served for eight years as the Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at North Iredell High School and Middle Schools in Statesville, North Carolina, one year as Director of Bands at Cane Ridge High School in Nashville, Tennessee, three and a half years as Director of Bands and Fine Arts Department Chair at Concord High School in Concord, North Carolina. Under Mr. Wilson’s direction, the North Iredell, Cane Ridge, and Concord High School ensembles earned numerous first place and superior ratings in state marching, concert and jazz festivals. Mr. Wilson has adjudicated numerous marching band, solo and ensembles, and concert band festivals throughout the states of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Arizona. A multifaceted musician, Mr. Wilson has performed extensively as bass clarinetist with the Asheville, Kingsport, Greensboro, Johnson City, Hendersonville, and Flagstaff Symphony Orchestras and has recorded for Warner Brothers Music and Carl Fisher Music Inc. Mr. Wilson is currently serving as Director of Bands at Charles T. Koontz Intermediate School, and is the first Director of Bands at The Franklin School of Innovation. Mr. Wilson is also working on another Master Degree and State Certification in School Administration from Gardner Webb University. Mr. Wilson resides in Hendersonville, North Carolina with his wife and two beautiful kids Lila Rose and Christopher Lincoln.
