Gina has been working as an educator since 2003 in a range of venues and institutions. She began her teaching career at the North Carolina Outward Bound School leading expeditions for youth and adults which focused on improving communication, leadership and conflict resolution skills and realizing personal potential through experiencing group and individual challenges in wilderness settings. After receiving an MS in Environmental Studies with a focus in Sustainable Agriculture from the University of Montana she found a niche working in higher education creating experiential education programing in Environmental Science and Agriculture. First at the University of the South: Sewanee where she designed and created a college farm and co-curricular programing in sustainable/regenerative agriculture. Then at Brevard College where she worked as a Professor of Environmental Studies and Agriculture and created a focus track and minor in Sustainable Agriculture and an Agriculture Education Licensure program. She is excited to be joining the team at Franklin School of Innovation and bringing her passion for teaching and exploring the natural world to the science classroom. Gina lives on a small farm with her daughter in Candler.
