Tammy is elated to be a part of The Franklin School of Innovation as an Exceptional Children’s teacher. She relocated from Ripley, Ohio to Asheville last fall and has spent the last several months substitute teaching in various schools and grade levels in the city and county.
Prior to moving to Asheville, she’s spent the last 7+ years teaching exceptional children in grades 6-12 and also is licensed in elementary grades K-6 with a Pre-K add-on. Tammy spent 3 years on the District and Building Leadership Teams assisting in the implementation of a district-wide improvement plan based on data of performance in math, reading and climate.
She’s been involved in “after” and “summer” school programs for grades K-8 for six of those years. Tammy is dedicated to the success of all students that involves an interactive approach between the school, families and the community.
In addition to teaching, Tammy has coached 7th/8th grade Volleyball and is an eight year veteran of the US Army. She enjoys spending time with her son, who is currently a senior at the University of Oklahoma as well as traveling, and activities that involve spending time in nature.
