Taylor Haag is glad to call Franklin another one of his homes. Born and raised at the coast of North Carolina, Taylor is already enjoying his new life in the mountains. He arrives having spent time teaching literature, journalism and English as a second language in many locales including Richmond, VA, Seattle, WA, Nantucket, MA and The Bahamas. The transition has been smooth at FSI as he feels it is a mix of the familiar and the new.
Taylor holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Appalachian State University. He enjoys sharing his passion for learning and literature with students and guiding them to be creative and engaged citizens in their community. In teaching English Language Arts, it is the stories that are shared, both on and off the page, and the relationships that are made that resonate in his classroom.
You can find Taylor outside of school playing the drums, strolling around downtown Asheville or at home cooking and listening to his record collection.
