Zoe is very excited to be joining FSI this year! Her passion for environmental science began as a young child playing in the woods behind her house in Fuquay-Varina, NC where she spent countless hours exploring, catching critters, and observing natural phenomena. After graduating from UNC Chapel Hill with a degree in Environmental Studies and minors in Marine Science and Music, Zoe went on to instruct snowboarding, guide on a class V river and lead sea kayak tours. In 2010 she joined the Peace Corps, working as a coastal resource management volunteer in Fiji. She then continued to travel the world, taking on unique jobs like “cameleer” and outdoor adventure guide. After earning an MS in Residential Environmental Education, Zoe moved to Colorado to enjoy its epic natural beauty and work as a youth program manager for two non-profits. She has since become a certified high school teacher and has fun integrating her life experiences into meaningful learning opportunities for youth.
