Sarah Westhusing
Sarah is excited to join the EC team and bring her experience and passion for supporting children to the classroom. She previously worked for eight years as an elementary and middle school assistant at Francine Delany New School for Children, where she had the opportunity to work with EC students in general education settings. She was quickly drawn to building connections with students and supporting them as they learned and grew.
Sarah earned her degree in Psychology from Appalachian State University and has also volunteered abroad as an elementary teacher. She hopes to bring warmth, empathy, and a supportive presence to the classroom while continuing to learn and grow in an EC setting.
Sarah grew up moving around because her father served in the military, but Asheville has been her home base for more than 20 years. Outside of school, she enjoys hiking, camping, traveling, and spending time outdoors with her son.
