Now Accepting Applications for Our Remote Academy for the 2026-27 School Year

We are excited to offer a hybrid-virtual instruction academy available to students in grades 9 through 12!
This is a primarily virtual learning program that includes in-person extracurricular activities.

Open enrollment dates are February 17th to March 31st, 2026.

Innovation Career Academy will offer a remote high school experience with an emphasis on CTE and career readiness with wrap-around in-person services

  • Instruction and curriculum will be provided by Edmentum EdOptions Academy and Edmentum Courseware curriculum: NC aligned and taught by NC certified teachers
  • Students have the flexibility to obtain a high school diploma, following either a typical 4-year pathway or an accelerated 3-year pathway
  • Students will have access to a full range of high school elective courses that match their post-secondary plans
  • Program staff will encourage and support students to enroll in dual credit career courses through Ab Tech and other regional community colleges
  • Optional daily and required weekly Crew advisory will provide connection, goal setting, and accountability for students. Program staff will track student progress and provide support if students get off-track
  • Students will create portfolios showcasing their academic work and post-secondary preparations for 10th and 12th grade presentations
  • There will be monthly or bi-monthly on-site workshops, field trips and service opportunities that will focus on post-secondary planning and help create a sense of community
  • Remote academy students will be allowed to try out for athletic teams and participate in after-school clubs and social events on the school campus
