The Franklin School of Innovation is preparing for a Return to Learning for the 2020-2021 school year. On July 24, in response to the continued upward trend in the spread of COVID-19 throughout North Carolina, and in our western region, the Board of Directors determined that the school will open under Plan C, with all students learning remotely, for the 1st four weeks of the school year. The Board also established public health metrics that will determine when the school can transition to Plan B. You can read more about the Board’s decision in the July 24 Update on Reopening.
We all want our students to return to school as soon as it is safe for them, our staff, and our community. Let’s all do our part to bring our students back to school! Wear your mask and keep your distance from others, and let’s turn this curve around.
We invite you to read our Blueprint for Reopening, as well as our Remote Instruction Plan. These documents will provide you with detailed information on the steps we are taking to ensure a safe return to school. The Blueprint for Reopening provides a comprehensive overview of how we are preparing for the school year, including the health and safety provisions, what instruction will look like, how we are responding to the social and emotional needs of students and staff, and the extracurricular activities and clubs that will resume this fall. The Remote Instruction Plan describes how our program will operate when we are open under “Plan C”, fully remote learning for all students. This plan was developed in compliance with state guidelines, for submission to the State Board of Education.
