Gretchen has lived all over the United States including Kansas, Washington, Montana, DC, and Texas. Before settling into a career in education, Gretchen worked as a naturalist at the CIty of Seattle Parks Department and for the National Wildlife Federation in Washington, DC. Gretchen began her career in education in 2007 as a middle school science teacher in Austin, Texas. She then made the transition to teaching exceptional children. She also has experience as a case manager, EC department chair, instructional coach, and professional development provider. Gretchen is passionate about education and working with teachers to create inclusive learning environments where all students have the opportunity to grow academically, socially, and emotionally. Gretchen is excited to be here in Asheville close to her family and the mountains. She loves to hike and travel all over the world.
