My name is Jeffrey Readman, and I am excited to be a part of the learning community at the Franklin School of Innovation. I am originally from Missoula, Montana, and moved to Asheville with my wife and daughter in the spring of 2017. I have also lived in Hawaii and the Outer Banks of North Carolina but have always felt most at home in the mountains. I enjoy hiking, camping, trail running, and most outdoor activities. My daughter is in 5th grade and will start middle school next year.
I spent the first part of my career in the restaurant world and have owned two restaurants, one in Missoula and one in Duck, NC. While rewarding, the service industry schedule and demands made having a family difficult, and 7 years ago, I jumped into education. I have been at Carolina Day School for the last 5 years and taught High School in Guilford County as a member of Teach for America. I have bachelor’s degrees from the University of Montana and the University of North Carolina Greensboro and a master’s degree from Appalachian State University. I look forward to making connections and helping our learners at FSI achieve their very best.
