Krystal is a proud North Carolina native who loves calling this part of the state home. She earned her B.A. in International and Global Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, with a focus on history and Russian language and literature. Her passion for other cultures and languages led her to travel extensively, studying and teaching English abroad in several countries. After returning to the U.S., Krystal went back to UNC Greensboro to earn her Master of Arts in Teaching. She holds licenses in both Elementary Education (K–6) and English as a Second Language (K–12). She began her teaching career in Guilford County before accepting a position with Buncombe County Schools. After three years as an ESL teacher, she spent two years at Francine Delany, where she developed a deep understanding of social-emotional learning and how to integrate personal development skills into the grade-school curriculum. Having grown up with undiagnosed ADHD, Krystal understands firsthand the importance of building confidence and independence alongside academic development.
When she’s not teaching, Krystal enjoys reading a good book, traveling, and spending time with her family.
