Mackenzie is originally from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, where she grew up with the sunshine and salt air of the beach. She graduated from Francis Marion University in 2018 with a B.A. in French and Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish. In 2016, she studied abroad at l’Université de Caen Normandie in France, an experience that deepened her love for language and culture. While at FMU, Mackenzie also competed in cross country and track and was named to the Women’s Cross Country All-Decade Team (2010–2019).
Before joining FSI, Mackenzie taught French and Mass Communications in South Carolina and Colorado. She is passionate about creating a classroom that feels safe, supportive, and joyful, where every student feels comfortable being themselves.
Outside of school, Mackenzie loves music (especially going to concerts), playing the drums, cross-stitching, and spending time reading or writing. She really enjoys being a part of the FSI community and looks forward to the unique energy and surprises each new school day brings!
