Mackenzie is in her fifth year of teaching and is originally from Murrells Inlet, South Carolina where she grew up by the beach! She has previously taught French and Mass Communications in South Carolina and most recently Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She graduated from Francis Marion University in 2018 with a B.A. in French and Mass Communications and a minor in Spanish. She also spent the 2016 Spring semester abroad at l’Université de Caen Normandie in Caen, France. While she was in college, she also ran cross country and track and earned a spot on the Women’s Cross Country All-Decade 2010-2019 Team.
Mackenzie’s first job as a teacher is to create a safe and loving environment for her students because she believes that education flourishes in a space where you can feel safe to be yourself. She is very excited to be at FSI and is looking forward to what the years to come bring.
