Mary Kinsey (aka Ms. MK) graduated from the University of Louisville with a Masters in Counseling and Expressive Arts therapy. Following graduate school, Mary Kinsey worked for 5 years at a therapeutic boarding school for girls ages 10-14. During this time, she became a registered yoga teacher and registered art therapist utilizing the tools of yoga and art to help students express themselves and develop coping skills to manage overwhelming emotions. After spending time at home with her young children, she began working part time as an outpatient therapist with school aged children and taught weekly yoga classes through the YMCA. Mary Kinsey is currently a licensed clinical mental health counselor associate.
Mary Kinsey’s calm demeanor and compassionate nature help her to connect with the high school students at FSI. She provides a safe space for students to navigate their internal and external challenges. Mary Kinsey is grateful for the opportunity to walk alongside the FSI students and witness their growth and potential. Outside of school, Mary Kinsey enjoys spending time with her family and dog, engaging in creative endeavors, going for walks in nature, practicing yoga, and reading.
