Give to our Annual Fund Today!
Good morning Franklin families,
It’s a short week and a short newsletter. The most important message today is gratitude! Thank you to everyone who contributed to our Holiday Staff Appreciation Fund. You exceeded the goal and raised $12,444! Every dime will be spent on our staff members, including a lovely cash gift, sweet gift bags filled with cozy items, and staff meals. The kind notes will be shared with our staff as well. If you want to really make their holidays bright – consider sending in handwritten notes of appreciation. Did you know that many (perhaps most???) teachers and school staff members have a special space where they tuck away thank you notes? These small acts of kindness are treasured. Thank you for your continued support and contributions to the Franklin community!
FSI Staff Members Enjoyed a Lovely Holiday Party!
A few important calendar reminders:
Tuesday, December 19 is an early release day: We will follow a Wednesday schedule – middle school will be released at 12:45 and high school students will be released at 1:00. We will provide Beyond the Bell after school program until 4:00 pm.
- Tues, Dec 19: Early Release (12:45/1:00) – Beyond the Bell program till 4 pm
- Wed, Dec 20 – Wed, Jan 3: Winter Break – no school. Teachers return for a work day on Jan 3; students return Thursday, Jan 4.
Please note that the school office is closed during Winter Break. School staff will not be answering phone calls or responding to emails during the break. We want everyone to rest up and return refreshed and ready for a strong 2nd semester!
Open Enrollment for 2024-25 (including siblings) Is Jan 1 – March 31!
If you plan to enroll a sibling for the coming school year – submit an application online and be sure to let us know it is a sibling enrollment. Current students who will return next year do not need to do anything right now. We will invite everyone to re-enroll later (in February).
If you know a student or family who would benefit from Franklin’s approach to education, please spread the word and encourage them to apply!
Creating a Culture of Kindness Family Resources:
As promised, I’m keeping the links to lessons on kindness and respect here and I encourage all families to talk with your students about how they contribute to a culture of kindness in our school. It’s one of the most important ways you can support our teachers and our staff. Use these resources to help define what respect looks like in your home. Creating a culture of kindness starts with each of us!
Thank you for choosing Franklin and creating a great school together.

Bolts Athletic News
The week was full of basketball, but unfortunately all teams fell short in the games. All a chance to learn and put the work in to getting better!
MS (V) played a tight game vs ICI and came up just short with a score of 20-25. Gates Stone led the Bolts with 12 points.
HS fell to the sharp shooting of ICI. Tyler Pruitt was the leading scorer for the Bolts and Shemar Wilson and Gabe Kirsch led in rebounds.
MS (JV) played their first game of the season vs New Classical and battled against the bigger opponent. Henry Ward led the Bolts with 8 points and Jude Melton with 5 points.
The MS (V) will play one more game before winter break on Monday at home versus Shining Rock at 4:30pm.
