Growing up in Louisiana, nature has always been an integral part of Amy’s life. She followed her passion for the environment to study at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge where she got a B.S. in natural resource ecology and management and a B.A. in French. Throughout her time in college, she realized that she loved teaching and mentoring others, so she decided to further her education by getting a Masters in Teaching from Centenary College. She is about to enter her third year of teaching and is excited to join the Franklin Community. Amy is a firm believer in hands-on, community-focused learning and can’t wait to implement EL education in her classroom. Outside of school, Amy likes to read, travel, hike, do yoga, and hang out with her dog, Sammy. Feel free to drop by her room if you ever want to discuss music or film!
