Annie grew up in Forest Hills, a small community near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Thiel College and Slippery Rock University, graduating in 2005.
With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Annie has worked in public, private, and Montessori schools, including 13 years with Asheville City Schools and 4 years at Carolina Day School. She is especially passionate about teaching math and believes in making it fun and accessible for all students. Annie values a student-centered classroom where every child feels supported and understood. She is trained in Montessori methods and holds an Associate-level Orton-Gillingham certification, which supports her focus on multisensory learning.
Outside of teaching, Annie enjoys spending time with family and friends. She stays active and balanced through hot yoga, walking, strength training, playing Dungeons & Dragons, cosplaying, and watching her favorite shows.
