Chelsea was raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, where she discovered her passion for teaching and advocacy. She pursued studies in Elementary Education, Special Education, and Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, building a strong foundation for supporting students of all abilities. After graduation, she experienced the best of both worlds—immersing herself in off-grid communal living while also embracing the fast-paced city life in NYC.
Before transitioning into public education, Chelsea worked as a sign language interpreter and educational consultant, supporting families and schools as they navigated the world of autism. Her teaching career spans elementary, middle, and high school levels, with a specialized focus on autism and dyslexia. Her deep commitment to literacy instruction led her to serve as a Reading Research to Classroom Practice instructor for the state, where she helps bridge research-based strategies with classroom implementation. She is thrilled to take the next step in her professional journey as she joins the Franklin School of Innovation.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Chelsea thrives on building connections and fostering understanding in both her work and personal life. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, traveling, attending shows, creating pottery, and cultivating meaningful spaces to share with friends and community.
