Mr. Grace Nyanga joins our staff as a 7th grade Social Studies teacher. A graduate of UNC Asheville, Grace is also a father to three wonderful children; one boy and two girls. Beginning in his home country of Uganda, East Africa, Mr. Nyanga has dedicated his life to raising and educating children in his extended family and his community. Grace was a founder of a high school in Uganda, where he was director for 7 years before moving to the United States with his family. Being a classroom teacher has been his life-long dream, and he enjoys meeting men and women that he has seen grow and excel, both under his care, or in his classroom. In the 9 years he’s been in the United States, Mr. Nyanga has worked with children in elementary, middle, and high school as a school bus driver, teaching assistant, and a student-teacher. He loves working in his garden, drinking hot tea, and following politics in both the US and Uganda. Grace is excited to join the team of other teachers at the Franklin School of Innovation with an ambitious goal of facilitating an education that makes a difference in our children and a better tomorrow for our communities.
