I am a veteran teacher of 18+ years. Originally from Michigan I earned my degree in secondary education with a focus on science from Eastern Michigan University. I began my teaching career in outdoor environmental education and wilderness trip leading for middle and high school aged students. I then moved into a traditional classroom setting where I have taught in schools in Georgia, Florida, as well as North Carolina. I believe in keeping education fun and exciting with lots of hands-on activities to help students understand the science content.
When I am not teaching, I am active outdoors with my wife doing a wide variety of activities. I am active in mountain biking, hiking, camping, backpacking, kayaking, skiing, and anything else that gets me outdoors. When I am home, I enjoy relaxing with my four wonderful cats.
