Meaghann received her MAT in Special Education from WCU in 2014, her MA in Performance Studies from UNC Chapel-Hill in 2003, and her BS in Nonverbal and Interpersonal Communication from ASU in 2001. She has over 20 years experience teaching in multiple contexts to an eclectic range of learners. Meaghann has led performance-based literacy groups, taught horseback riding lessons to children with behavior and emotional challenges, served as an AmeriCorps Volunteer for two years teaching conflict mediation and service learning, facilitated educational activities in a high-security residential home, taught dance to adults with disabilities, directed an early education community cooperative, and was a guardian ad litem.
Meaghann’s favorite learning activities are integrated, collaborative, student-centered, and grounded in discovery-based authentic learning. Meaghann is thrilled to have found a home at FSI since March 2018 and looks forward to many more years of growth and discovery with this phenomenal school.
