Sandi Wilson is a four-time Music Educator Grammy Award® nominee (2025 Legacy Applicant), TEDx speaker, and internationally recognized music educator, performer, and clinician. With over 17 years of experience, she has developed six music programs across North Carolina and Colorado and currently leads an innovative modern orchestra program at the Franklin School of Innovation in Asheville. Her teaching blends classical training with contemporary, multicultural, and mindfulness-based approaches to music education. Her development of Modern Orchestra was a dream project come true; to create an equity orchestra for anyone, playing any instrument, to come together and create an inspiring ensemble experience.
Wilson began her musical journey at age four and earned a Bachelor of Music from UNC Charlotte. She has pursued graduate studies through the University of Colorado and plans to continue toward a doctoral degree.
As a violinist and vocalist, she has performed with the Charlotte Symphony, Pikes Peak Philharmonic, and in various studio and live settings. She has directed over 30 musical theatre productions and choreographed multicultural music and dance performances for schools, festivals, and community events.
She was named one of the “Top 100 Visionaries in Education” by the Global Forum for Education and Learning and has recently been featured in VoyageDenver and Shoutout Colorado for her innovative work and leadership in the arts.
Outside of her work, Sandi enjoys hiking, skiing, and exploring the outdoors with her husband Kyle and their four beloved fur babies.
