Good morning Franklin families,
And this is it – the final week of the 2026 school year. It’s been a good year! We are proud to have earned the EL Education full credential this year and we look forward to digging in and continuing to build on a solid foundation next year! Thank you all for being active and engaged members of our community and partnering with us to prepare our students for the futures they want and deserve.
Truthfully, I think nearly everyone who works in a school enters the last week with a grim determination to just survive. Things get squirrely. Stress levels run high, there are still tests and final assignments, but not much instruction left. Even students who are excited for summer have that extra energy that comes with big changes in routines. Let’s all extend a little extra grace and patience toward one another.
Although we’re winding down, it’s a busy week. Students in 5th and 8th grades and in Biology have their final state exam tomorrow. We are also retesting students who scored just below a 3 (proficient) on the tests that have already been administered and giving make up tests. Retesting and make up tests will take place on Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday we celebrate our 8th grade “Moving Up” ceremony and Friday is high school graduation.
Wednesday is a full day and Friday is an early release day. We will not have afterschool Beyond the Bell services on Friday. Our staff will all be ready for the weekend!
If you haven’t had the chance yet, please remember to complete our very short survey. We will review the results with our School Improvement Team and Board of Directors and use the data to help us identify areas for deeper investigation: Parent Feedback Survey
Thank you for choosing Franklin and for partnering with us to prepare students for the futures they create. We hope you have a wonderful summer!

Reminders
We Have a Few Spots for 5th Grade!
Do you know a wonderful family with a rising 5th grader? We have a few spots available for the 2026-2027 school year. Filling these spots helps us offset the terrible state budget situation. We also love bringing students in for our 5th grade year – our team does a terrific job of onboarding students and helping them learn what it means to be an FSI Bolt. Help us serve as many students as we can! We can also accept a few more students for 11th and 12th grade. This can be a great opportunity for students who are looking for more support as they begin planning for college. With a full-time College & Career Counselor and support through Crew and our teachers, our students have access to strong post-secondary support. We are full with wait lists for all other grades at this time.
