Chris grew up in NW Indiana just outside of Chicago. He went on to study elementary education at Vincennes University and University of Southern Indiana, where he graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and middle grades social studies. After teaching one year in Indiana, Chris moved to Charlotte with his wife, Elizabeth. Here he taught 6th grade science and social studies for the next ten years before moving to the Asheville area in 2015. Since moving to Western North Carolina, he has alternated between the classroom and being a homeschool teacher for his two children.Chris has taught at an array of schools during his teaching career, which has given him the opportunity to work with a wide variety of students and educators. He has a passion for teaching and building positive relationships with students, and is ecstatic to now be a part of FSI
When not teaching, Chris enjoys watching and playing baseball, hiking the endless trails of WNC, and camping/traveling with his family.
