Heather was a founding teacher here at FSI, and currently is one of two Spanish teachers.
Her BA is from Centre College in Kentucky, and she has taught a total of 7 years at both the high school and the middle school levels. Her passion is in curriculum development with much inspiration from Montessori methodologies, and her classroom is rich in interactive materials with an integrative, communicative approach. She is excited about weaving together the expeditionary learning model into our school community.
She also spends some time as a professional graphic designer and multimedia marketing freelancer.
Heather cultivates her love of learning through continual study and play: martial arts, Taiji, dance, volleyball, meditation, hiking, writing, making art, learning languages, spending time outdoors, animation, nutrition, systems thinking, travel, reading fiction, keeping up with the latest scientific research, nurturing family, and continually seeking balance.
